Blogging for Books: Book Review 3

The Dragon and the Turtle Go on Safari

After reading The Dragon and The Turtle  I knew the next book I would want to review had to be the sequel, The Dragon and The Turtle Go on Safari...but it didn't have the effect I hoped it would on the kids.
They didn't sit still during it and just didn't pay it any attention. I am pretty sure it's because of the Gaelic language used in the book that they don't understand, nor do I pronounce correctly.  At one point during the book they actually asked to read the previous book again instead of this one.

I think it is for an older age group than the 2-4 range and would recommend it to older children.

About the book:

“Padraig, my friend, it is time for us to be courageous.”

Padraig the dragon and his best friend, Roger the turtle are determined to spend the whole night outside. As brave explorers at the base of Mount Sillymanborrow, the boys use their imaginations to have fun while munching on crunchy baked bugs and toasting s’mores over their campfire. But when the sky gets dark and the sounds of strange animals fill the forest outside their tent, their safari gets scary. This adventure is just what the boys need to discover that the dark might be frightening, but their friendship is stronger than fear.

I was not compensated for my honest review but I did receive this book for free from the Blogging for Books program..
